Halloween is so fun! Who doesn’t love getting to dress up as something else for a little while? But Halloween can also be stressful. And it can also be the last thing you’re thinking of. Fortunately, just because you left your costume until the last minute doesn’t mean you have to settle for a crappy ‘fit. We’ve not only worked to come up with some genius last-minute costume ideas, we’ve also rounded up everything you’ll need to create those awesome costumes. Whether you want to channel your inner rockstar, dress as a classic toy, or try something totally new, we’ve got you covered.
1. A Pig in a Blanket
Dress as one of the tastiest party snacks and a pun all in one. A pig in a blanket is an easy costume that delivers tons of laughs. All you need is a pig costume set and a brown blanket.
This piggy costume set has all you need.
This brown blanket mimics the flaky pie crust.
2. Chappell Roan’s Gov Ball Outfit
Chappell Roan has made waves all year long and doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Channel your inner Pink Pony Girl and dress in one of Chappell’s most iconic looks. Style a dress with some silver shoes, paint yourself green, and don the Lady Liberty torch and crown and you’ve got the look.
This dress is as close as we can get to Chappell’s glam outfit.
Lady Liberty’s torch is an essential for the outfit.
This crown isn’t quite the same as Chappell’s, but it’s available at the last minute!
Paint yourself with this body-safe green paint to top off the costume.
3. A Vintage Troll Doll
Whether you loved them or hated them, Troll dolls were one of the most popular toys of the 80s and 90s. These adorable toys were known for their crazy hair and their adorable belly gems. Luckily, the toy makes for a really easy costume you can recreate in a snap. If you’ve got the wig, a tan dress, and a belly gem, you have what you need.
The wig is the most iconic part of the entire costume!
This dress makes it look like you’re that adorable little plastic doll – naked without actually being naked.
This rhinestone makes the perfect belly button stone.
4. Carmy from The Bear
This might be the easiest costume on this list! You likely already have a solid white tee and jeans, but we’ve included them anyway. Other than that, you need some temporary tattoos and a blue apron and you’re suddenly transformed into Chicago’s crankiest chef.
Any white tee will do, but we’re partial to this one that’s received thousands of five-star reviews!
These jeans feel a little too nice for the kitchen, but we think Carmy would approve.
Carmy’s tattoos aren’t quite this typical, but these are fun and get the point across!
The final piece is the kitchen-approved, standard blue apron.
5. Night and Day
You can’t go wrong with a classic duo! Night and Day make a fun matching costume for you. and your best friend. If you want a costume that isn’t just easy but is also something you’ll wear again, then you’ll want this gorgeous duo costume.
This dress glitters and shimmers, making you look like a little sunburst.
Bring the shine of the sun to your costume. This crown looks like a beautiful, bright halo.
Sparkle like the night sky in this gorgeous silver dress. After Halloween, you can use it as a fun cocktail dress!
Bring the stars to you with this gorgeous silver crown.
6. The Famous “Jolene”
One of Dolly Parton’s most famous songs, “Jolene” is iconic and we think this costume is even more iconic! Give yourself “flaming locks of auburn hair” and be sure no one mistakes you for Ariel out of water by slapping a “Jolene” name tag on your shirt.
Get those flaming locks with this gorgeous wig that gives you inches and won’t break the bank.
Be sure no one is unsure who you are with these stickers.
7. The Golden Fruit
Who doesn’t love pineapple? Pineapple is one of the best fruits out there and it’s one of the easiest costumes to create. We’ve chosen two different headpieces so you can decide if you want to go for fancy pineapple or more laidback. The headband and the dress and you’ve got a full costume!
If you want to dress up your pineapple costume, making it more of a fineapple, if you will, you’ll want to snag this beautiful green tiara.
This bright yellow dress is just the right shade for pineapples!
This green headband is a more subdued option for your pineapple topper.
8. A Classic: Rosie the Riveter
Rosie the Riveter is one of those costumes that never goes out of style. You can’t go wrong with Rosie and everyone instantly knows who you are. A red lip, a red bandana, and a rolled-up jean top turn you into one of the most famous figures in American history.
This vinyl lipstick stays in place all night long and looks bright, bold, and beautiful.
Roll this bandana up and tie it at the top of your head to top the look off.
This denim top looks great with the sleeves rolled up just like Rosie!
9. Head in the Clouds
If you’ve got your head in the clouds, you’re going to love this hat. Style it with practically anything, but we think it looks best with a blue or white dress. If you want to get extra fancy, you can really go wild with your makeup and do something cloudy and ethereal.
This cloudy hat can be repurposed after Halloween’s over!
10. An Ice Cream Sundae
Create a costume that looks as tasty as it would taste. Cut the construction paper up into sprinkle shapes and paste them to your dress. Use the tissue paper to create a whipped cream topping and pull the cherry bucket hat on to make it the cherry on top.
This construction paper can be chopped up into perfectly sized sprinkles.
This lovely pink dress is a great base for your ice cream sundae.
This tissue paper makes a beautiful, wavy whipped cream topping that really completes the ice cream look.
This adorable bucket hat is the actual cherry on top!
11. A Loofah
It might sound silly, but a loofah is a pretty easy costume and a pretty cute one. We recommend grabbing a few of these blue tutus, stacking them, gluing a rubber ducky to a headband, and you’ve got a cute, easy costume. You could add a bodysuit underneath if you want something that offers you a little more coverage.
This tutu comes in a handful of fun colors, but we think it looks best in blue!
This thick, blue headband sets off the rubber ducky from the rest of the costume. This one is thick enough to fit the duck with a little extra room.
This adorable rubber ducky gets glued straight to the headband for a fun bathtime accessory.
12. Ariel After the Shipwreck
Sure, it’s fun to dress as Ariel while she’s in the water, but what’s more fun is to dress as Ariel after her shipwreck. A thick rope and a wide white sheet tied around your body and you suddenly look just like Ariel at her first meeting with Prince Eric. It’s a great Disney costume that won’t break the bank and is totally unexpected.
This chunky jute rope is the perfect size, style, and texture for creating the costume.
This sheet is the perfect size for wrapping around your body and securing as elegantly as possible.
13. Candy Dots
The delicious sugar candies you loved growing up make an easy and fantastic costume. Start with a white dress, cut the bottoms off of solo cups, paint them with acrylics, and glue the bottoms to your dress. You’ll love how fun your costume is and if you want to make it even more fun, you could top it with a fun-colored wig.
This dress is the perfect blank canvas for your costume.
Cut the bottoms off of these cups and paint them before you adhere them to your dress.
This set of acrylics is perfect for this costume and all sorts of other crafts.
14. A Pantone Color
All you need for this costume is a solid outfit, a chisel marker, and a poster board. If you’ve got a solid-colored outfit, you’re set, but we’re making this as comfortable as possible. We’ve chosen a flexible jumpsuit you’ll love wearing. Cut a panel out of the poster board, write “Pantone” on the board, and tape it to your jumpsuit.
These chisel tip markers are great for this costume and all sorts of other crafts, too.
You can practically live in this super comfy jumpsuit!
This poster board is just sturdy enough for this costume without folding or creasing throughout the day.
15. Frances “Baby” “I Brought a Watermelon” Houseman
Dirty Dancing might be a bit of a throwback, but it’s a classic! Dress up as the best Awkward Girl character out there. All you need for Baby’s costume is a peach tank top, a pair of jean shorts, and some white Keds. Of course, you’ll also need the watermelon to really sell it, but Amazon doesn’t sell them so you’ll have to find one on your own.
This peach tank top really nails the Baby Houseman look. You can wear this for years after this Halloween.
Any jean shorts work, but we’re loving these cuffed shorts!
You can’t go wrong with a good pair of white Keds in any situation!
